### Assistant inside Homarr
Assistant is available from boards, the command menu, and the user menu. It reads live Homarr data and uses tools for boards, apps, integrations, widgets, Docker, and supported services.
Open Assistant from a board or the user menu with <kbd>Shift</kbd> + <kbd>A</kbd>. <kbd>Cmd</kbd>/<kbd>Ctrl</kbd> + <kbd>/</kbd> opens Assistant search. It reads live Homarr data and uses tools for boards, apps, integrations, widgets, Docker, and supported services.
Tool calls use the signed-in user's permissions. Read-only calls can run automatically; changes require approval by default. Provider credentials stay encrypted on the server. Providers, models, attachments, mentions, sources, usage, and private history are supported. Workshop also provides a community-funded provider.
